Humans technically can drink sea water but then they would die. The problem arises in the kidneys where the Salt needs to be filtered out as it is harmful for the body. in order to Osmoregulate the process, the amount of urine produced to remove the salt from our body would require more water than the water we took in because urines salt concentration cant exceed the concentration of salt. This will eventually lead to dehydration and death.
