    Gymnosperms are a category of plants which are woody and have naked seeds. They are non-flowering and some of the most common gymnosperms are cedar and pine. In gymnosperms, the female part is the cone and the male reproductive part is the pollen. Most of the gymnosperm trees produce both pollen and seed cones, therefore male and female cones can be produced by the same tree. The fertilized ovule turns gradually into a seed.
