Organisms benefit from adaptations because in order for them to survive, they need to adapt to their surroundings. For example, if a shark didnt have fins or a tail, it wouldnt be able to swim and catch its prey.

Organisms benefit from adaptation by surviving longer, reproduction, blending with their environment, and evolving.
