    Explanation:

    Desmosomes are complex structures that are disc-shaped and have the function of anchoring one cell to another. They are widely found in epithelial tissue cells, such as the spinous stratum of the epidermis.

    Desmosomes have transmembrane proteins (cadherins) that guarantee the union of adjacent membranes. In addition, in plasma membrane plates facing the cytoplasmic surface, there are a number of proteins that enable intracellular anchoring, as in the case of the cytoskeleton.

    Through the desmosomes, the intermediate filaments of adjacent cells connect to a "net" that spreads for several cells of the same tissue.
