    So, the FFM is the free fat mass. For a person with 180punds with 30% of body fat, the Free fat mass is:

    180 - 100%

    x - 30%

    x=54

    Now, 180-54 = 126pounds

    The desired percentage of body fat (desired %BF in the equation) is 20%. If we replace values in the formula the thing goes like this:

    Target body weight = 126pounds / (1 - (20/100))

    Target body weight = 126pounds / (1-0.2)

    Target body weight = 126pounds / (0.8)

    Target body weight = 157.5pounds
