When we talk about the life cycle of a living being, we are referring to all the stages it goes through throughout its life.

    Explanation:

Insects and robber crab have different life cycles, but they share some similar aspects.

To start we must clarify that most insects have a life cycle that consists of 4 stages, while the one of the robber crab is 5.

The stages of the insect are: egg, larva, pupa and adult. While those of the robber crab are The Nauplius stage, Zoea Larval stage, Mysis or Megalopa stage, Post-Larval Stage, and the Adult Growth stage.

The egg state is where all insects start, you can find insect eggs almost anywhere. This is their first state.

While the first state of a crustacean like the robber crub is called The Nauplius stage. Here, the crustacean appears for the first time only with a head with an eye and its telson. That would be our first difference.

The second stage of the insect is the larvae, where they will have the shape of a worm, with many legs and an elongated shape. They are fed an amount that equals their own weight in just one day.

The second stage of the crab is The Zoea Larval Stage, where they will also become larvae. Here we can establish our first similarity. The difference is that the larva of this species are swimming and have a thoracic appendix.

The third stage of the insect is pupa, where it will change its physical form completely. During this stage the insect tries not to move much and not eat in order to protect itself and complete the change.

The third stage of the crab is Mysis or Megalopa stage is the final stage of development, here we find another similarity with the insect.

The last stage of the insect is adult, where the insect will have fully developed. It will have developed legs and wings, and that is how we normally know insects.

The next stage of the crab is The Post-Larval Stage, and unlike the insect where it is already fully developed for its fourth stage, the crab here is beginning to develop its legs and body as an adult.

The last stage is The Adult Growth Stage, in the adult stage, just like an insect, the crustaceans will have fully developed their body and will be able to find a breeding partner.
