The release of Epinephrine is responsible for what we call the "adrenaline rush". Epinephrine is part of the "Fight or Flight" response, and is responsible primarily for increasing the blood flow to allow for either flight or fight. However Epinephrine has a variety of affects including the sweating and hair raising.
