Oil companies would be biased as they are interested in the guld of mexico for economic growth, despite oils polluting effects (especially oil spills. similar for power plants, environmental protection agencies would be biased in the opposite way. Therefore researchers employed by farmers and landscapers along the Mississipi River may have the least motives to be biased/subjective.
