Joel wanted to test the concentration of salt in red blood cells. He had five flasks of saline at different concentrations as well as sheep red blood cells. Describe the most

efficient way Joel could determine the salt concentration of the red blood cells with what he had available and what he could expect

A

lool used one of the flasks to test the red blood cells, if the salt mixture in the flask was hypertonic the cell would swell

B. Joel mixed the flasks with each other to test the tonicity of the blood cells, the average of all the salt mixtures would be the tonicity of the red blood cells

C

Joel used all flasks to test the tonicity of the red blood cells, the solution with the same tonicity as the cells, would allow the cells to shrink

D. Joel used all flasks to test the tonicity of the red blood cells, the solution with the same tonicity as the cells, would allow the cells to maintain roughly the same size

    D. Joel used all flasks to test the tonicity of the red blood cells, the solution with the same tonicity as the cells, would allow the cells to maintain roughly the same size

    Explanation:

The different concentration of salt will react with the red blood cell differently; in the presence of high salt concentration, the red blood cell will shrink (hypertonic environment) while in the presence of low salt concentration the red blood cell will swell (hypotonic environment) but if the red blood cell and the salt concentration is almost the same the cell will maintain almost the same size
