Why would a rough, steep mountain habitat have a higher rate of speciation than a large, open grasslands habitat?

    The motivation behind why an unpleasant soak mountain living space has a higher rate of speciation than an extensive open prairies living space is that the mountain natural surroundings would have a more extensive scope of situations, and would disengage sub gatherings of the populace.
