Embryonic stem cells - Totipotent - can develop into any (all) type of tissue. Adult stem cells - Pleuripotent - can develop into many (not all) types of tissue. Skin cells - Non potent differentiated cells - can develop as skin tissue only. It is due to level of differentiation. Embryonic stem cells are undifferentiated. Adult stem cells are slightly differentiated. Skin cells are fully differentiated cells.
