It has soil that is rich in nutrients.

It has long, cold winters and short, cool summers.

    Explanation:

The Cape Breton Highlands National Park is located in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia in the north of Cape Breton Island.

At the western entrance to the park is the Acadian village of Cheticamp on the St. Lawrence Gulf. The information center is also in the village. On the east side is the village of Ingonish with its white sandy beaches on the Atlantic Ocean. In between, mountains, valleys, forests, waterfalls, rocky coast and a tundra-like highland can be found.

T he wildlife of the national park has moose, black bears and bald eagles. But whales and gannets can also be observed from the hiking trails on the coast. The park's forests are also home to the Bicknell thrush. The park is characterized by the boreal forests that cover the high plateau. But especially in autumn, the many deciduous trees stand out.

The climate of the northern part of the island (where the park is located) is formed under the influence of continental winds, as well as its location near the sea and mountains, and is characterized by rapid changes in weather, moderate rainfall, warm summers and cold winters.
