The site of a divide is defined as the elevated boundary separating areas that are drained by different river systems.
Explanation:
It is the boundary of separating areas drained by river systems. This process is called as drainage divide. The water that is flowed from one side of a divide empties the body of water and water flowed on another side empties the another.
The drainage divide occurs in mountain range or hills. On a rugged land the divide lies in the topographical ridges and they are in the form of a single range of hills or mountains are said to be dividing range.
Water divide is defined as the line that separates two adjacent drainage basins. They are marked by elevated area such as mountain or a plateau.
