How can a trait skip a generation? (for example, the parents have the trait, their children do not, but then later, their grandchildren do have the trait)

    Carriers are the reason why traits can skip generations. Recessive traits like blue eyes or hair color can skip generations because they can hide out in a carrier behind a dominant trait. This means that it can sometimes take a few generations to finally make its presence known. (BTW I researched it)
