Answer: Biome refers to those specific biological communities that must have created due to the action of the prevailing physical climatic condition. It is of various types of which we are going to share about the two i. e freshwater biome and the marine biome.

Marine biome It covers about 70-75% of the world, being the largest one. The marine zone is very salty i. e the salt content in it is very high. A variety of life exist in this region, from simple to complex. It is very effective to the terrestrial climatic condition as ocean water gets evaporated and subsequently produces rainfall in the land areas and coastal regions. For example, estuaries and coral reefs.

    2. Freshwater biome

It covers only about 5% of the total water on earth. The salt content here is low. It is divided into three types such as the flowing water bodies (such as rivers, streams), still/standing water bodies (such as Ponds, lakes) and wetlands. we are much more dependent on the freshwater biome, as it provides water to drink and for agricultural purposes. For example, lakes, ponds and rivers.
