What are the three basic characteristics of all cells

All cells have at least three common features: a cell membrane, cytoplasm and DNA. Every cell has a selectively permeable cell membrane that allows some materials to pass in and out of the cell, and contains the water-based solution cytoplasm.

All cells share four common components: a plasma membrane: an outer covering that separates the cell's interior from its surrounding environment. cytoplasm: a jelly-like cytosol within the cell in which other cellular components are found. DNA: the genetic material of the cell
