Why if is fluorine most likely ti bond with an element that can donate a single electron

    Take a look at your periodic table. Fluorine is in group 17, and by its electron configuration you can see that its outer electron shell needs only one electron to be complete. For this reason bonding with an element that can donate a single electron is the optimal option.
