The routine laboratory test that is administered during prenatal period to determine the client's risk for rubella is blood test. The blood test will reveal whether the pregnant client is protected against rubella virus or not. For those women, who are yet to be pregnant and are not protected against rubella, they can take the vaccination for rubella before becoming pregnant because the vaccination can not be taken during pregnancy.
