How did the use of coal affect human activity in the 1800s?

    Coal can be described as a fossil fuel which is made from millions of years ago dead plants. It is a non-renewable energy source.

    Humans began using coal abundantly in the 1800s and it became a source of power for them. They used coal to power the steamships and rails which provided them with better opportunities for travelling. People used coal to manufacture goods a that time. By the end of 1800, coal had become such a powerhouse that people started making electricity out of it.
