A gymnast complains of pain in the medial aspect of her right tibia. There is pain before, during, and after activity. Assessment rules out a stress fracture, and the injury is determined to be a grade 3 medial tibial stress syndrome (MTSS). What could be the cause of this condition?

    -Running on hard surfaces without any or with little cushioning

    -Overtraining and fatigue

    -Varus or pronated hypermobile foot
