What is homeostasis and why is it so important?

    The maintenance of a constant internal environment. Automatic control systems throughout the body maintain temperature and water at steady levels which are required for cells to function properly

    Maintaining balance within your body. For example, you sweat to cool off when you are too hot. If this didn't happen you would overheat (just an example)
