Mr. Miller and his son, Jake, are very similar. Both are tall, left-handed, and good at math. Everyone says Mr. Miller looked just like Jake when Mr. Miller was Jake's age. Jake is wondering how this is possible. His friend Kylie explained that he and his father are very similar because they have identical genetic material. Is Kylie correct?

    Yes and no. In sexual reproduction 50% of genetic material comes from each parent. 50% of Jakes genetic material is from Mr. Miller. But Jake being good at math has nothing to do with genetic material.
