A form of fat circulating in the blood that can accumulate on the inner walls of arteries and restrict blood flow is the cholesterol. It comprises about 5 percent of the total fat in the body. Cholesterol build up in the arteries causes for the channels to narrow affecting the flow of blood in these channels. This substance is not at all bad for the body as it is needed to build cells in the body. However, too much of this substance would cause health problems like cardiovascular diseases, atherosclerosis, metabolic syndrome and the like. Cholesterol would come from two sources. One would be from the liver which makes all we need. The other would be from the food we intake especially from the meat.
