    Explanation:

    a) Evolution Genetics is the study of how organisms can evolve given a change in genetics. In other words how a variation in an organism's genes from the norm leads to evolutionary changes. This is what the Researcher was doing in studying mutations in bacteria.

    b) By changing some aspects of their DNA, certain bacteria became more resistant to antibiotics. Not all the bacteria were able to do so though so quite of number of bacteria will still succumb to antibiotics. The bacteria that have a changed DNA and hence have evolved will not. Therefore option C is the best answer.
