The x-intercept is when y=0,0=35*x, meaning x=0 because anything times 0 is 0. since the amount of sales the school gets is 35% you have to move the decimal 2 spots to the right to get 0.35, of the total sales, x is the total sales and the y-intercepts means $0 in total sales.
