Why does a population not level off during the same year it reaches zero population growth?

    The answer to that could be as simple as the fact that there was a virus that killed animals as fast as they were being born.

    Just because babies aren't being born, doesn't mean people are dying. If there are no babies being born, there will be no population growth. But people didn't die either therefore there will be no change in the population
