Evaporation is a process where the water gets vapours and enters into the atmosphere. It always occurs in liquid or water not in any solid particles. We use evaporation method to separate the salt from water and condensation method to get water from the vapour form.

Due to evaporation the water from the salt water or ocean evaporates and the salt content increases. It makes the water more saline. Thus evaporation increases the salinity of water. In the ocean the high salinity is balanced by inflow of river water to the sea.
