In the Darfur region of the Sudan, Arab herders and African farmers have survived on the same land for generations. Although they live off the same land, their different histories and traditions led them to make different cultural adaptations (i. e., farming versus herding) for survival. The difference in livelihoods between the groups suggests what about culture and the physical environment?
