Though swamps and marshes generally used in interchangeable manner, there is a difference between them.

    Explanation:

Swamps are basically a type of wetland which is dominated by woody plats and other tress, where as in marshes wetland we can generally found herbaceous type of plants.

Swamps vegetation most of the time depends on the fluctuation of water level. but in case of marshes, these are found at the border of lakes or ponds.
