    Nitrate assimilation is a process through which nitrogen is acquired in green algae. The macro elements of nitrogen is the most essential and abundant component for living matter for growth and development and productivity.

    Explanation:

    If nitrates are not assimilated into plants then the green algae or Chloro phyte algae that require nitrogen which will be obtaining from nitrate will not enter into their body and as the result of this, their growth and development hampers and also it also decreases their productivity.
