It's the theory that believe organisms have grown and developed from past organisms. for instance, the theory started by Charles Darwin on how humans has evolved and came to be in their present form. So, before evolution can occur there must be different stages that has be observed which are discuss below.

    Heredity refers to the the passing on of traits from parents to their offspring, which can be either through asexual reproduction or sexual reproduction.

    During the process the offspring cells or organisms takes the genetic information of their parents.

    Variation may be observe in mode of reproduction, appearance, fertility and it refers to any difference between individual organisms, or groups of organisms of any species that is as a result of different factors such as genetic differences or effect of environmental factors on the expression of the genetic potentials.
