What happens when blood volume is lost from the body?

    When blood is lost, the decreased blood volume will consequently decrease blood pressure. To compensate for the blood loss, arteries contract. The contraction increases blood pressure. This is also how the body reacts to dehydration and other conditions causing hypotension.
