Why is a soil profile in a tropical rain forest different from one in a desert?

    I think because there is more water in the tropical rain forest and more animals and there would be more decay and leaf mold, (dead leaves)

    I think because in a rainforest it is more damp than the desert because the dessert is dry and sandy
