Why are the leaves of many plants broad and flat?

A. To prevent water loss from transportation

B. To transport nutrients through the plant

    D, because when it's broad (large and flat) it increases area, meaning it can gain more sunlight.

    A: can't be it, why? because the water loss is not determined by the leaf.

    B: That would be for the stem

    C: it would be thicker and also in the stem
