The only way to prevent conjunctivitis is through good hygiene. It is associated with the inflammation of the conjunctiva of the eye (also called pink eye) which shows swelling or redness. It is could be bacterial or viral in origin which are found everywhere, so the best prevention is to properly clean your hands before touching your eyes or even clean your eyes on a regular basis.
