    With the development of the technology the scientists have been able to develop numerous different methods in order to be able to examine the brain, its work, and the intelligence levels. The dogs and wolves are still basically the same species despite the big differences in the physical appearance. There is a big variation between the intelligence levels between the different types of domestic dogs though, and the lifestyle has been much different than that of the wolves for thousands of years now, so understandably there will some differences. There is well developed machines that can scan the brain in great detail and its activity, and it can be a good indicator of intelligence, but more importantly with the practical methods it can be seen as to how much an animal is intelligent, as since the canids are very social and don't really mind performing or trying to perform tasks, it is relatively easy nowadays.
