Contact forces require the physical contact between objects.

    Explanation:

Force is an interaction which can cause a body to move, can bring a moving body to rest. change the shape of an object or change the direction of motion of an object.

Forces that can act between objects which are not in true physical contact are called non-contact forces. Example - Gravitational force, Magnetic force etc.

Forces that act only when the interacting objects are in true physical contact are called contact forces. Example - Frictional force.
