RNA (Ribose Nucleic Acid) plays important role in transcription and translation. There are three different types of RNA, each having specific functions.

    1. mRNA: Messenger RNA is produced during transcription from the single stranded DNA strand that carries the message from DNA template for protein synthesis.

    2. rRNA: Ribosomal RNA is used for the synthesis of ribosomes that are used in the process of protein synthesis (translation).

    3. tRNA: Transfer RNA also plays an important role during protein synthesis by adding the right amino acids corresponding to the code on the primary transcript.
