    U. s. citizens have a large ecological footprint because of their high consumption of water and energy per person than the other progressive countries. This is also because of they have more suburban extensions and lesser public transportation. But larger ecological footprint doesn't only mean that a person has a better life quality. For example, a person who is vegetarian has a lesser footprint than a person who prefers meat a lot. Another example also is when a person who prefers walking or taking the public transportation in going to work also has a lesser footprint than a person who travels alone in his own car going to work.
