It connects consumers with manufacturer of various products. They buy goods in large quantities from the wholesalers and sell in smaller quantities to consumers or household for consumption or personal use.

    Activities of retailers includes sourcing for information in the market place, forecasting need of the customer and also engage in financing etc.

    Retailers often times communicate taste or preference of consumers to either wholesaler or manufacturer. This is because they are closer to consumers hence understand their needs.
