The following costs were incurred for that level of production: Direct materials $ 60000 Direct labor 165000 Variable overhead 80000 Fixed overhead 175000 If Bonita buys the part from an outside supplier, $45000 of the fixed overhead is avoidable.     = $350,000 : 5,000

    = $70

    Price of supplier per unit = $73

    Net increase in cost per unit = ($73 - $70) $2

    Number of units to be produced = 5,000

    Decrease in net income = Number of units to be produced * Net increase in cost per unit

    = 5,000 * $2

    = $15,000
