Cook's Department Store advertises that it maintains a barbershop in its store and that the shop is managed by Hunter, a Cook's employee. Actually, Hunter is not an employee of the store but merely rents space in the store. While shaving Joran in the barbershop, Hunter negligently its a deep gash, requiring 10 stitches, into one of Jordan's ears. Should Jordan be entitled to collect damages from Cook's department store?

    Explanation: The given case is an example of apparent authority agency by estoppel.

    In the given case, the store by advertising made believe to the third party that Hunter is their employee. Thus, believing it in good faith Jordan took service from hunter and got injured. Now the store could not deny it as it would be unfair to Jordan who took services in good faith.

    Hence from the above we can conclude that Jordan is entitled to recover damages.
