    We are given with four married couples which means that all in all there are 8 people. The number of ways in which these people could seat in a line of 8 chairs given that there will be no restriction can be calculated using the basic principles of counting.

    n = 8 x 7 x 6 x 5 ...

    The answer is 8! which is equal to 40,320.
