giving employees continuous, real-time coaching, feedback, and solutions.

    Explanation:

There are several types of performance appraisal methods, e. g. 360-degree method, general performance appraisal, employee self-assessment, sales performance method, and a long list of etc. The best one for a company will always depend on which department your are working in, e. g. if you work in the sales department, the sales performance method is probably most appropriate. If you work in development of new products, then the project evaluation review might work properly.

But what all good appraisal methods must have in common, is that they need to provide a constant feedback to employees and also provide possible alternative solutions to solving problems that they might be facing. E. g. a salesperson is having trouble selling products with new technical specifications, so besides judging his performance, he must be provided with the necessary tools to improve his performance and solve his problems, maybe by more technical training on the new products.
