    Hello there!

    Answer:

Stay calm, and slow down to avoid the crash.

    Explanation:

If you're in a situation like that, it itsbest to just stay calm and slow down to avoid the accident. If someone suddenly merges in your lane while you're on the farthest right lane next to the curb, then you're out of choices but to just brake.

The reason why I say you're out of choices is because you can't steer to the right to avoid the car, due to the fact that there is a curb that'll mess of your wheels and cause other damages to your car. You also can't steer left to avoid the car because you don't know if there would be a car right next to you. The only safest way to avoid the collision is to slow down.

I recommend not slamming on the brakes, due to the fact that there could be other drivers behind you that could possibly either be distracted or isn't ready for you slamming on the brakes. What they recommend is to gradually push down on your brakes until you're at a necessary distance.
