The Davis-Moore Thesis states: Group of answer choices That economic hardship and skyrocketing inflation is the cause for all social stratification in the United States. That the more society values a particular profession, the more the people in that profession will make.     It was an early attempt to explain stratification in society, it stated that social stratification is necessary to promote efficiency, productivity and excellence, it gives people something to strive for.

    The sociologists Wilbert Moore and and Kingsley Davis published it in 1945 and argued that the importance of a social role decides its award, they said that the most difficult jobs in the society are necessary ones and they require highest compensation to motivate individuals to do those jobs. And once the posts are filled, division of labour functions properly.
