    a) 176.45

    b) 141.2

    Explanation:

    output 7,200

    productivity: 0.12 van per labor hour

    340 laborer employed

    Where:

    productivity = outpt/base

    0.12 = 7,200/labor hours

    7,200 / 0.12 = 60,000 total labor hours

    Then we divide by the total laborers to know the average per laborer.

    60,000/340 = 176.46 = 176.45 hours

    (B) if the productivity increases to 0.15

    then:

    7,200/0.15 = 48,000

    48,000 / 340 = 141.17 = 141.2
