    Explanation:

    Products which are related, and are produced and marketed under a household name company, are called product line. One of the distinguishing factors in product line is price.

    In product line, companies manufacture new but similar products and add same to existing ones. These line of products are known to the buyers because they are manufactured under a brand and therefore would buy more of those products.

    The purpose of companies engaging in product line is to produce goods to be consumed for related or similar use.

    Example of product line is when a well known company in the USA produces detergents and add other lines of products like toothpaste, bathing soaps etc.
