A few plant-eating salamanders manage to float on a log to a large island in the pacific that did not have any other salamander species previously. the salamanders find the island has abundant plants for food and no predators. on average, a salamander has four offspring per year and lives for one year.

    The answer is: The population will increase more rapidly each year than the year before

    The main cause of the increase is the food abundance that the separated experience have. The food abundance would guarantee that none of them died from starvation. No predators would also mean that most of the salamanders would not die during their productive years, which make most of them able to produce the maximum amount of offspring.
