    This assertion is most certainly true and likely an extreme understatement. As the cost of living has increased decade-by-decade since the 1950s, there is more and more pressure for the average middle-class worker to do everything they can to stay afloat. In practice, this occurs in nearly every position and society.

    I believe this is true.

    A fib is a white lie, meaning that it is not an important lie, but rather something small and meaningless that won't harm anyone. So if there are no dangers of causing troubles for other people, most people will usually lie in order to get what they want.
